Black History Month 2023 is themed around ‘Saluting Our Sisters’ and this comprehension activity uses a brilliant Black History Month article to explore the life and achievements of the amazing Diane Abbott, who was the first Black, female Member of Parliament, elected to the House of Commons in 1987!

There are 18 questions plus an Oracy extension which test a range of KS2 national curriculum reading skills. All answers are provided.
