Description
Brand new for 2023/24 is this fantastic reading fluency assessment resource. Modelled on the DIBELs reading fluency assessments, but written for a UK rather than US reader, and using a range of fantastic, age-appropriate books!
This resource features an extract from Where The Wilderness Lives, by Jess Butterworth, which has a lexile measure (LM) of 650.
There is a pupil extract and then an adult mark-sheet including script and space to record pupil name, date of assessment and assessment scores.
Across Year 4, pupils should be able to read texts with a lexile score between 620 and 750 at a rate of 100 words per minute to be considered a “fluent” reader.
Pupil fluency should be assessed as follows in Year 4:
Building Fluency (BF) – Able to read a text at the prescribed speed with a lexile score between 620 and 669.
Almost Fluent (AF) – Able to read a text at the prescribed speed with a lexile score between 670 and 709.
Fluent (F) – Able to read a text at the prescribed speed with a lexile score of 710 or more.
