KS1 – Deaf Awareness
This KS1 resource features a week of fully-planned whole-class reading with a focus on deaf awareness (19th – 25th September is International Week of Deaf People)
There are extracts from two books with deaf characters – Freddie and Fairy & Lizzy and Lucky: The Mystery of the Stolen Treasure, plus a lesson in BSL courtesy of Dodge and cBeebies!
There is daily vocabulary work and retrieval practice, plus work on a range of KS1 reading comprehension skills based on the National Curriculum reading content domains.
