FREDsTeaching Ltd was founded by teacher and Reading expert Kieron Murphy and features a huge variety of revolutionary reading, writing and oracy resources that have been used by thousands of teachers in classrooms around the world!
FRED (aka Kieron) is a father, reader and teacher with a track record of accelerated pupil progress and delivery of high-quality, impactful teacher CPD.
He is available for speaking events, in-school and online CPD sessions and can be contacted right here.
What started out as a reading blog with my first-born son (www.fatherreading.wordpress.com) and a desire to improve the profile and teaching of reading in the primary classroom has now become FREDsTeaching!
On this website you will find a huge range of reading resources created by teachers who are working in classrooms around the world, led by FRED who began this style of teaching reading using extracts when researching the best approaches to teaching reading as part of an NPQSL project.
The resources will save you bags of time, improve you reading lessons immediately and lead to outstanding progress for all pupils. I am passionate about inclusion for all children in quality first teaching and would advise that all children participate in your reading lessons, with scaffolding to support this. WCR lessons include regular EXT challenges to push your more able pupils and comprehensions are often written using the same stimulus for KS1, LKS2 and UKS2 to support differentiation.
