LKS2 – Black History Month: Rosa Parks and the Bristol Bus Boycott
October is Black History Month! To help bring this important month into your classroom, we have produced a full month of resources for each phase.
This LKS2 resource features a week of fully-planned whole-class reading looking at the inspirational Rosa Parks and also tells the story of Paul Stephenson and the Bristol Bus Boycotts! There is an extract from the book Little People Big Dreams: Rosa Parks, a BBC Bitesize article on Rosa and a YouTube video explaining the Bristol Bus Boycotts.
There is daily vocabulary work and retrieval practice, plus work on a range of KS2 reading comprehension skills based on the National Curriculum reading content domains.
