UKS2 – Black History Month: Black Britons and Windrush
October is Black History Month! To help bring this important month into your classroom, we have produced a full month of resources for each phase.
This UKS2 resource features a week of fully-planned whole-class reading looking at Black Britons and the Windrush Generation. There are extracts from David Olusoga’s ‘Black and British’ and Windrush Child by Benjamin Zephaniah, plus a BBC News article on the Windrush Generation.
There is daily vocabulary work and retrieval practice, plus work on a range of KS2 reading comprehension skills based on the National Curriculum reading content domains.
