Year 5 Reading Assessment - Autumn 2

Brand new for 2024/25 are our bespoke Reading Assessments! These feature high-quality, engaging, relevant texts covering a wide range of genres across the academic year.

The assessments include a purposeful layout to support accessibility and help familiarise children with End-of-Key-Stage assessments.

Alongside a question set that covers a variety of reading content domains is a full mark-scheme.

This Autumn 2 assessment for Year 5 includes a fiction extract and a non-fiction piece on the digestive system.

There are 28 questions spread across the two texts for a total of 40 marks.

We recommend that this assessment is used at the end of the half-term, alongside one of our fluency assessments, to give teachers a clear understanding of where their children are working and what next steps to take to support progress.
