KS2 – Non-Fiction SATs-Style Comprehension: Extinct Tyrannosaurus Rex
This is a KS2 SATs-Style comprehension activity using an extract from the excellent Extinct Tyrannosaurus Rex by Ben Garrod and Gabriel Ugueto.
There are 10 questions testing a range of KS2 reading skills based on the national curriculum reading content domains, and these are laid out in a style similar to what the children will face when completing their end-of-KS2 SATs, which are returning for 2022! All answers are included.
The task has been designed for completion over 30 minutes, reflecting the length of the extract involved and supporting children to build up their confidence and pace over the course of the year. This would work as an excellent challenge for children aiming for Greater Depth!
