Whole-School 2026 Poetry Day Resource – The Door Marked Wonder!
What you will find here is a whole-school resource written to be used for your school annual Poetry Day 2026 celebration (or at any other time as required) and designed to give you a whole-school focus/theme based around an original poem called The Door Marked Wonder, written by FREDsTeaching Ltd founder Kieron Murphy!
There are loads of activities to complete in all classrooms, with activities differentiated across Reception/KS1, LKS2 and UKS2.
After reading the poem and discussing in detail, there are oracy, poetry writing and art activities to have a go at. These should lead to some beautiful outcomes including a school Wonder Wall display and poetry anthology!
The pack has been created by teachers who work across all ages and should be suitable to keep all ages engaged, entertained and focused, leading to lovely end outcomes including poetry and artwork that would make for a perfect whole-school display and showcase on social media and school websites!
