LKS2 Black History Month WCR – Modern Women
This LKS2 resource features a week of fully-planned whole-class reading which is ideal for use during Black History Month in October.
The resource focuses on the stories of more modern Black women, and features extracts on Simone Biles (from Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls), Whitney Houston (from Black Music Greats: 40 Inspiring Icons) and Serena Williams (from A Mind Like Mine).
There is daily vocabulary work and retrieval practice plus work on a range of LKS2 reading comprehension skills based on the National Curriculum reading content domains.
Vocabulary work now includes a look at morphology and etymology!
