UKS2 Black History Month WCR – Modern Stories
This UKS2 resource features a week of fully-planned whole-class reading which is ideal for use during Black History Month in October.
The resource explores modern, inspiration black stories using two fantastic pieces of non-fiction (Young, Gifted and Black and Young, Gifted and Black Too) to share the stories of Barack and Michelle Obama, Prince, Laverne Cox and Phoebe Robinson!
There is daily vocabulary work and retrieval practice plus work on a range of UKS2 reading comprehension skills based on the National Curriculum reading content domains.
Vocabulary work now includes a look at morphology, etymology, collocation and connotation!
Three writing challenges are included!
