LKS2 – Black History Month: Mae Jemison and Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock
October is Black History Month! To help bring this important month into your classroom, we have produced a full month of resources for each phase.
This LKS2 resource features a week of fully-planned whole-class reading looking at Astronaut Mae Jemison through a picture book called Mae Among the Stars and an extract from Blast Off Into Space Like Mae before we then enjoy a fantastic interview with the inspirational scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock!
There is daily vocabulary work and retrieval practice, plus work on a range of KS2 reading comprehension skills based on the National Curriculum reading content domains.
